Support - Bereavement

Religion deal with the ultimate. Faiths put death into a context, both of meaning and of comfort. In the form of rites and rituals they provide for a time of loss and grief a structure of activity, of things that need to be done so that loss can be recognised and managed, and life carry on. A death of someone close when two different faiths are involved can highlight certain differences in how faiths interpret the ultimate truths of existence but it also unites us as mortal people who share the same realities of death and of love. Where a bereavement crosses faith boundaries sensitive handling can help bring people together in grieving for the departed.
